Title: "Surrogate Mothers of God"
Scripture: Lk 1:26-38
Key Verse: "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" (v. 34).
Theme: Mary is understandably perplexed as to how she will bear a child in her womb. She is, after all, a virgin. I wonder if any of us has ever asked the question about our own ministry, "How can this be?" How can I bring hope to anyone? How can I serve God? How can I build up the kingdom? We so often minimize our ability to contribute anything to the kingdom of God even while God is calling us to serve as harbingers of his kingdom! God is calling us to a similar ministry as Mary, to bear forth the hope of the world into the corners of our world where it has yet to be born.
